David Elliott Wins Gold At Pan-American Championship
Congratulations to David Elliott (13 years old) who won Gold at the Pan-American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships in California February 17, 2014. David fought a tough opponent who travelled from Brazil(Current Rio Open Gold Medalist and 3 time Pan-Am Champion) David controlled the match from start to finish utilizing his ever increasingly dangerous guard, submitting his opponent with a triangle choke with 56 seconds to spare.

David and his family extended thanks to Professor Curt Malin and Professor Andrew Gummer from Donnan BJJ. David spends over 6.5 hours a week at Donnan BJJ learning new techniques, drilling and honing his competition game.

David’s busy tournament schedule continues as the next competition is in less than 45 days away. By winning the Abu Dhabi trials in New York this past October, David earned a trip to Dubai to compete at the “Abu Dhabi World Professional Championships” where he will again test his skills against the best the world has to offer.
There will be little rest for David as he will be off to the “Kid’s World’s Championships” in July to defend the first world title he won last year in Los Angeles, California. To supplement his training for this tournament, David has been invited to join Team “Art of Jiu-Jitsu” which is run by world renowned 7-time World Champions, Rafael and Guilherme Mendes…“The Mendes Bros” at their studio, Art of Jiu-Jitsu have a competition team of 40+ kids and run a grueling training camp helping their students prepare for the high level of competition found at the Kid’s Worlds.
