This series of Instructional Clinics has been developed to offer coaches a practical session on teaching various skills and tactics. This proactive approach will also open the doors of communication and provide a non-threatening environment for coaches to further educate themselves on skill development while focusing on skills within drills. There are a total of 6 specific Instructional Stream Clinics available that include the following:
• Skating Level 1 & 2
• Skills Level 1 & 2
• Developing D-man Level 1
• Small Area Games
Hockey Canada has developed the Instructional Stream Clinic Program to act as a supplementary coaching education program. This program is an educational service to coaches in Alberta administered and delivered by Hockey Alberta trained Instructors. Coaches will get credit towards their Continuing Education requirements for Coach Certification.
Each clinic will be delivered in two components:
• Classroom, and
Speciality Clinic Content
• Video presentation of the skills to be illustrated to the coaches.
• Group discussion of the skill set required for each skill execution.
• Coaches on-ice session for review of the drill selections.
