About Donnan Lacrosse

The Academic and Athletic Development Institute of Edmonton in conjunction with Donnan School and Vimy Ridge Academy are proud to administer the Donnan Lacrosse Program . Donnan Lacrosse has been expanded and is now open to all Grade 4, 5 and 6 student-athletes, male and female, who are interested in combining the skill development of lacrosse with overall athletic enhancement. The objective of the program is to develop a foundation of lacrosse skills while working on overall movement and sport skills, which leads to physical literacy.

The student-athletes are exposed to both field and box lacrosse, while being led through numerous other sports to build upon their active lifestyles. Each student-athlete receives an average of six lacrosse sessions per month, while combining other physical activities and in-class sessions focusing on health and wellness. They have multiple skill development days, working alongside professional lacrosse instructors. No lacrosse experience is required to be a Donnan Lacrosse student-athlete, just a desire to learn the game of lacrosse.

The Donnan Lacrosse program is coordinated by Dallas Smith, Donnan Lacrosse Program Director, with assistance from Jimmy Quinlan and Paul Rai. Dallas and Jimmy bring a strong lacrosse coaching background.  They both believe the Donnan Lacrosse program is a great opportunity for student-athletes to be exposed to lacrosse skill development while developing overall athleticism and a love of an active lifestyle.
