Jhett Hickey joined Donnan in 2021, he was so excited to be able to join a school that supports athletes, academics and sports.
Jhett fell in love with BMX racing when he was 6 years old, he started racing provincially and showed to be a force to be reckoned with. In the summer of 2021, he qualified for Nationals and came home #1 in Alberta and Canada for 9yr Boys. And has since qualified for 2022 WORLDS in Papendal, Netherlands.
Being a summer sport, we took the states to start racing year round, he has trained with several Olympian BMX’ers and is a sponge for learning more. His goal this year it to get a CNAG plate (which is a National plate through racing in the USA).
Jhett has always been eager to learn the strategy, the angles of the sport and is not afraid to train hard. He’s always on his bike practicing manuals, jumps and just playing around.
We are very thankful for a school that supports students as they pursue their passion, and encourage them to be the best they can be.
